Social Ethics of Former Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple

August 27, 2008

Attached on the column to the right under topical papers is a paper on the Social Ethics of William Temple, former Archbishop of Canterbury. Temple’s social ethics offer a refreshing look at principles that place a Christian’s relationship with Jesus Christ first and allow for loving one’s neighbor to flow from the love we receive from Jesus. For Temple, social ethics is impotent apart from the life that only Jesus provides, and social ethics rightly are the effect of Christ’s initiative through us.

I encourage you to read the paper to see how to apply the gospel socially by turning your heart and mind to Jesus first and allow his Spirit to lead you to serve others.

I was hoping to see your thoughts on William Temple and social ethics but it does not appear to there. Any chance of getting this now?
